The 2022 Kia Niro EV Trims, Power, and Performance

The 2022 Kia Niro EV is available in five trim levels: LX, LXS, Touring, Touring Sport, and the Niro Special Edition. When it comes to power and performance, the Kia Niro EV is equipped with a single electric motor that creates 201 horsepower, sent through the front wheels by a one-speed direct-drive transmission. In just 9 seconds, this electric vehicle can go up to 60 mph, which is faster than the Hyundai Kona Electric and the Chevy Bolt EV. 

Thanks to regenerative braking, it’s possible to drive the new 2022 Niro EV with only one pedal! Regenerative braking is an energy recovery mechanism. It slows down a vehicle in motion by converting its kinetic energy into a form that can be stored until needed or used immediately. Ultimately, it recharges the car as you brake.

New Kia Niro EV Features and Advanced Technology

Even with the base trim, the Niro EV comes equipped with standard power front seats, heated seats, and a digital driver display. If you decide to upgrade to a Premium trim, you’ll have access to features like breathable front seats, wireless charging, and a power sunroof! Plus, the new Kia Niro EV has a two-zone automatic climate control system. So if the passenger’s seats are empty, you can turn off the climate control to save energy!

The standard infotainment system in the new Kia Niro EV is a touchscreen. However, it still has useful tuning and volume control knobs that you can use! Either way, you’ll still have access to a voice-activated navigation system and SiriusXM satellite radio. Keep in mind that a subscription is required after a three-month free trial period.
